Co-Principal Investigator, Department of Gerontology, University of Nebraska at Omaha, 2006-present. Participating in a Nebraska Hospice and Palliative Care Partnership study examining funeral and memorial service planning behaviors of Nebraskans.
Co-Principal Investigator, North Carolina Project C.A.R.E. program, 2004-present. Evaluated the effectiveness of Alzheimer's Disease Demonstration Grant program designed to provide dementia-specific services to minority and rural family caregivers.
Partner Team Member, North Carolina Better Jobs Better Care demonstration grant, 2004-2006. Helped to develop, pilot, and implement a uniform set of criteria of the training of long-term care workers in home care, adult care homes, and nursing facilities.

Aging Services Experience
Member, Nebraska Caregiving Coalition, 2006-present. Attending monthly meetings with health care professionals, service providers, aging organizations, and state and local officials. Discussing efforts designed to strengthen support for family caregivers.
Consultant, Nebraska State Unit on Aging, 2006-present. Meeting regularly with state officials and older Nebraskans in "town hall meetings" to discuss long-range planning, including the development of a statewide Alzheimer's Disease Resource Center.
Member, Friends of Residents in Long-Term Care, 2004-present. Participating in lobbying efforts on behalf of North Carolina families in nursing homes, adult care homes, and assisted living facilities.
Volunteer, Our Savior Catholic Center, University of Southern California, 2000-2004. Participated in parish ministries providing support services to area nursing home residents and to homeless elders.
Activities Coordinator, Calistoga Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Calistoga, California, 1997-1998. Planned and supervised activities for skilled nursing facility residents in an Alzheimer's disease special care unit.
Caregiver and Case Manager, Alzheimer's Respite and Resource Center, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Santa Rosa, California (with Jesuit Volunteer Corps), 1996-1997. Planned activities and provided care for persons with dementia in a respite day program. Developed a parish-based program of outreach for in-home frail elders.
